FAQ:

Here is a number of answers to questions you may have. If you do not find what you are looking for please contact me.

I am an Art Consultant or Art Dealer, who would like to represent Mads' work.

I am always interested in representation. Please send me an email and tell me what your plans are.

I want Mads to get involved in a custom commercial project. What do I do?

In order to get me involved by making drafts and suggestions, I ask for $500, to get started. This amount is non refundable, but will be deducted in the final price. I will also need all the information you find relevant for me to make suggestions like size, colors, motives etc.

I'm a private person, who wants Mads to paint a painting.

I do require a non-refundable deposit to start, however this amount will vary on a case by case basis.

We have agreed on the final draft. What now?

To get started, I will need at least 50% of the agreed price. The remaining 50% is to be paid when the painting is delivered.

Reproductions. What is the actual size mentioned?

The size is for the framed piece e.g.. frame size and not actual size of image unless differently mentioned.

Can reproductions really last more than 70 years?

Yes, according to www.wilhelm-research.com and Hewlett Packard. Print needs to be under glass and printed on HP photo paper. Results for other paper types will be listed when available.

Does Mads do art donations for auctions?

Yes, but Mads usually researches, finds and determines,  which auctions he wants to donate to. If you do want a painting for a non-profit, non-religious, non-political auction you can contact Mads with a description on cause etc. It will then be decided if he wishes to participate.

How can I tell if I have an original painting?

If you are not sure if you have an original Mads Painting, please take a photo and measure the painting and email it to us. We will then be able to determine if you have an original or not.

What does Limited series mean?

In the world of reproductions Limited series are very important. Located usually near the signature you will find a number like for example 12/100. This means that the reproduction you have is number 12 out of a series of 100 reproductions. The lower the number of total reproductions the more exclusive your reproduction becomes. Quality wise the number of the reproduction you have should not have any importance, however some seek to get the number 1 reproduction.

Mads always signs the Limited series.

Some reproductions do not have a number at all and this usually means that there is no strict control with the number of reproductions. You will usually experience this with posters.

What is Mads, is that really a name?

Yes, it is a real name. In the USA, this has become a really common question. Mads is not mad, and not trying to be fancy. It is a Danish name, which is very common in Denmark. Here everybody have heard the old folk song about Mads Dos, who is neither mad or have anything to do with computers.

We believe that the name Mads is a Danish version of Matthew.

The reason that  the last name is not used, is again not an attempt to be fancy. Neither do I think I am as famous as Madonna and Prince, and only need one name. I leave it out in most cases, because it causes problems when people try to pronounce it. The last name is Kragh. So being born with two difficult names, I decided to just have trouble with one name and concentrate on just Mads.

What other things does Mads do?

"I enjoy to create. Almost anything. From something that wasn't before to something there is, gives me great enjoyment. There are no limits. What ever that has my interest, I usually have my idea to how it could be done or look differently."

So on top of paintings you can find things as furniture, area rugs, houses, surfboards and many different decor items made and designed by Mads. Practically there are no limits.

How do I buy Mads work?

Currently using the best way to buy reproductions is online or through artconsultants. Occasionally paintings are available in galleries, but the widest selection will be available online. If you are interested in custom paintings, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I have seen Mads work at a hotel/cruise ship/terminal/restaurant. Can I buy a reproduction?

Yes, in most cases it is possible to buy a reproduction of works from commercial projects. If you can not find the image in the Mads Store, please send a brief description of the work and location, in order to identify.
