Painting for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts

For the transformation and renovation of a Waikiki Beach Hotel in Hawaii, Mads was involved in creating a mural.

The large painting measures 17x5ft and will be installed (Oct 06) in the lobby behind the reception. It will be highly visible and sure to be noticed by anyone entering the lobby. The project stretched over a period of two years, so naturally there have been many challenges and changes. One of the more significant was the color choices. The designers, wanted more subtle colors that would match colors of rugs and other textiles. The end result is an artwork of a very high quality that the client and the future guests of the hotel can be happy with.

The painting gives the guests an idea of what to expect on their vacation. The background of the painting is based by the most visibly significantly object on the island of Oahu; Diamondhead Volcano. Beach and the water, surfing, palm trees, traditional Hawaiian outrigger, the Catamaran on Waikiki Beach, and the torches all defining Hawaii.
